Terms & conditions
Terms of Sale
LAST UPDATED 29 AUGUST 2026
These terms apply when you order from matchaforge.com. Please read them — particularly the pre-order section, because a pre-order is a slightly different thing from a normal purchase.
1. Who you are dealing with
This site is operated by [TRADING NAME], [company registration / sole trader status], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS], VAT number [VAT NUMBER]. Contact: hello@matchaforge.com.
2. Pre-orders
A pre-order is an order for a machine from a production run that has not yet been delivered to us. When you pre-order:
- You are charged at the time you place the order. That money funds the production run — this is stated plainly rather than buried, because it is the honest description of what is happening.
- Your order is a contract only once we send you an order confirmation email.
- You may cancel and be refunded in full at any time before your machine is dispatched.
- The ship date shown at checkout is our best estimate, not a guarantee. If it moves by more than two weeks we will tell you and you may cancel for a full refund.
- If a run cannot be produced at all, every affected order is refunded in full.
3. The Founders Edition list
The Founders Edition is not on sale. Joining the Founders list registers interest only: no payment is taken and no contract is formed. The walnut inlay has not been tooled and the edition does not yet exist as a manufactured product. If and when it does, people on the list are offered a numbered unit first, at the price advertised at the time they joined. We may decide not to produce it, in which case nobody has lost anything, because nobody has paid anything.
4. Prices
Prices are in euro and include VAT at the applicable rate, shipping within the EU and UK, and prepaid import duties. We may change prices for future orders; a change never affects an order already placed. If a price is listed wrongly through an obvious error, we will contact you before proceeding rather than silently cancelling or silently charging you more.
5. Your right to change your mind
As a consumer in the EU or UK you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the machine, without giving a reason. We voluntarily extend this to 60 days, and unlike the statutory right we do not reduce the refund because you used it. See Shipping & Returns for how.
6. What the product is
Matcha Forge is a battery-powered whisking appliance. It does not heat water and is not represented as doing so. Images on this site are, until real production photography replaces them, design visualisations of the launch specification — final finishes, markings and materials may differ in detail. Specifications may change where a change improves the product; anything that materially changes what you ordered will be told to you before dispatch, with the option to cancel.
7. Safe use
Use it with water and matcha, in the cup supplied. It is not a blender and not a food processor. Keep the charging port dry, do not immerse the base unit beyond what the instructions allow, and keep it away from children. Follow the instructions supplied with the machine.
8. Liability
We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your statutory rights as a consumer. Beyond that, our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of [COUNTRY], and disputes may be brought in its courts. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
10. If something goes wrong
Email hello@matchaforge.com first. A small operation can usually fix a problem faster than a process can.
